During China’s National Holiday, some BRFLS students took the train to Jing Gang Mountain, a place named “The Cradle of the Chinese Revolution”. The purpose of this trip was to let students get to know the glorious history of the revolution that began at Jing Gang Mountain and to help them to grow in a healthier way.

They did many meaningful things during their days at Jing Gang Mountain. They ate the special “poor” meal after learning the hardship and difficulties of the Chinese Red Army, visited the local museum, visited the famous Huang Yang Jie Battlefield relics , tried some hard labor similar to the work the Red Army did, and visited the martyrs cemetery and monument to memorize our pioneers who sacrificed their lives for our new future.

Team Building Activities were also a great way to educate the children on how to give thanks to their parents and other people. In one game called “Bridge”, they had to walk on their parents’ wrists. This made them reflect on how little they did for their parents in their lives no matter how hard their parents worked for them. Some children cried out of regret.

Though this trip was short, we believe our students benefited greatly from its education and we hope this trip can light up the road for the children’s future growth.
