Watercolor-Let the Color Become Fairies

In BRFLS, we offer a wide platform for students to learn both art and sports. Our teachers are focusing on cultivating students’ interest and stimulating students’ creative ability.

Watercolor painting began in the United Kingdom and was introduced to China centuries ago. Watercolor is a beautiful painting style and a  complex Technology. It pays attention to different tones, lights and shadows.

Watercolor painting  not only teaches the students painting techniques, but also creates good habits for the students.

First, watercolor painting increases students’ attentiveness. The color of the Watercolor painting is not easy to change, therefore students must be 100% focused on painting, and make sure they use the correct sequence of colors.

Second, this style of paining helps students to paint effectively. The amount of watercolor paint should not be too much. The best result is done once, but no more than three times. Students cannot move the paint brush back and forth, otherwise the color will get dirty.

Finally, students must keep the paint clean. They must only use three or four colors in order to maintain the purity of color.

Fourth, watercolor stresses the unity of the painting. Ordinarily, watercolor drafting should start from the light way. Otherwise, it will affect the final view of the picture.

Fifth, Painting with watercolor inspires innovation and creativity in students. Watercolor painting has great creative space and depends on using different materials and technologies.

Generally speaking, watercolor painting is full of spirit and fun. The more concentrated the students are, the more creative ability they gain. The purpose of art class is cultivating students’ aesthetic vision, and a special way to view our world.

In Xu GU’s watercolor class, he focuses on the expression of emotion. Therefore, his students always make many excellent pictures. Some of them look rough, some of them look soft, and some of them look vivid. Every painting is a unique performance. I hope the children will paint more wonderful watercolor paintings in the future.
