The First Piano Report Show of BRFLS

On the evening of January 11th, children from the RFLS were gathered together to attend the first piano report show. The reason why it was called “report show” was because this event was not only a show but also an exam for students who have had VIP piano class this semester. Therefore, the children who were going to perform were nervous but excited.

As a reporter for this show, I did a short interview with the managing director of the activity. She said, ” this time students are going to give a piano performance to the audience rather than just playing for their teachers. This is not a challenge but an opportunity for them. They need to know that playing piano is not only about playing the notes, but also passing the emotion of their piece to the audience.”

There were five examiners there, so that students could get  comprehensive feedback from different perspectives. At the beginning of the semester, six teachers (Zhao Haijun; Wang Xiaokun; Yang Jia; Zhang Mengqi; Song Xiao and GaoJi) had already prepared a Students’ Piano Learning Record Notebook for each student. Teachers would write down how the class was going and what progress the student had made in this notebook. Since this was a one-on-one class, teachers would use different teaching methods according to students’ different personalities.

The general director Richard Li attended this show. He told the students, ” I watched the show tonight and you all did really good! I am proud of you all! If you can keep on practicing piano and making progress, in the future RFLS will give you more and more opportunities like this!”

At the end of this show, Ms Zhao Haijun summarized the event, saying, ”Students really need this kind of opportunity in their childhood. I feel so grateful for RFLS giving them this platform. I would like to say thank you to all the school leaders and piano teachers. For the coming semester, we would like to work harder on teaching piano in order to give our students the best learning experience in RFLS.”
