Look! You Have a Letter From Your Pen Pal in America

In today’s day and age, technology for communication is so advanced. When was the last time you wrote a letter?

At the moment, students from grade 5, class 3 at BRFLS are making friends with a fifth grade class in the U.S. by writing to each other through traditional letters.

Pen pals, just as the name implies, is making friends through writing letters. However, what is very interesting is that the American students are writing their letters in Chinese, while the Chinese students are writing their letters in English.

By the letters sent to China, BRFLS students could tell that the American students took writing their letters in Chinese characters very seriously. They were very surprised by their American friends’ high Chinese level. They all introduced themselves, talked about their family, and hobbies. They were looking forward to getting their response letters.

By writing letters to each other, the students not only get to practice their English, but also they can apply what they learned in class to a real life context. They are more interested in learning English when they get to do this.

Now let’s enjoy the letters between the BRFLS and American students.
