I believe everyone has heard the story of Santa.
Once upon a time, there was an old man named Nicholas. He spent his entire life helping the poor. One night, Nicholas tried to throw a bag of gold to a girl in a window. But instead, it fell into a stocking that was hanging on a wall.
It is said, that on the night of Christmas Eve, Santa Claus drives a sleigh flown by reindeers full of gifts for all of the good children that year. He quietly climbs down the chimney, and puts gifts into stockings hung above beds. That is why children put up colorful stocking above their bed, and put out a hot cup of milk.
Christmas is an exciting day, especially for children. Other important western culture holidays include Halloween and Thanksgiving. At BRFLS, the teachers and staff celebrate these holidays so that the children can be exposed to other cultures. Around Christmas, we always decorate the school as a Christmas palace.
The students are like Santa’s Workshop. The first graders display their work inside and outside of the classroom. The ceiling of the classroom, shelves, and windowsills are covered in the students’ work.
During the Christmas season, our classroom is ever changing. We enjoy spending time with each other everyday. As a teacher or parent, we cannot always guarantee our children that they will make perfect grades, but we can guarantee them that they will be loved.

What is our pursuit of Christmas? We pursue a faith, and the faith of love. Love is Christmas. Love is holy, we desire happiness every day.
