In order to make students study happy and healthy, not only do we have many interesting social gatherings and activities, our teachers are also very creative about students’ homework. Let’s enjoy their innovative creation!

Chinese homework takes on different forms, as we want students to “move” their pens, hands and brains at the same time. For example, after learning “The Song of Trees”, we let students walk into nature to observe different tree leaves and take beautiful tree samples. Furthermore, teachers encourage students to make stories related to autumn leaves using their own imagination.

The PYP Course for 2nd grade focuses on students’ self-exploration. Their assignments also reflect this principle. Their divergent thinking is strongly encouraged during the process of discovery. They need to use pictures and text to display their research results to other students, which is a great way to train their presentation skills.

For example, here please look at their unique ways to show their understanding of multiplication they just learned.

The English Department encourages students to feel the application of English in their daily lives, by using pictures, drawings, text, comic strips, picture stories, newspapers, etc.

For example, they work in different groups to finish posters surronding a topic of “At Home”. They drew each family member doing one thing in each room, and described it using the present continuous tense.

2nd grade students love their homework assignments because they are full of fun, and challenges. Therefore, they can enjoy the challenge and pursue their continuous self-improvement.
