“You are a unique Chinese girl indeed! Of all the Chinese applicants to the school I’ve encountered in my career, you may be the most talented. You will have a lot of opportunities in the future!” So commented the Admissions Director, who has more than thirty years of experience evaluating excellent students from the U.S, and abroad. Li Xiaoxuan grew up overseas from age 2 to 7 and she received complete primary education after returning to China. We see the perfect combination of Chinese and Western culture in her and she seems to be more assertive than her peers. She decided to study at BRFLS by herself. BRFLS upholds an education concept that combines both Chinese and Western culture and we have rich teaching contents, excellent teaching staff, and beautiful environment. Li Xiaoxuan saw the information of the school and she decided to conduct an on-site investigation. At the school opening day, Li Xiaoxuan visited the classrooms, dormitories, and attended some opening classes. After the trip, Li Xiaoxuan decided to come to BRFLS.

“BRFLS is very strong in academics. They have biology, physics and chemistry in Grade 7 and their English classes combined both traditional and foreign teaching materials. “Do you think you can adapt to the pressure of study?” In the face of her mother’s concerns and doubts, Li Xiaoxuan said: “I like to learn new knowledge every day and I don’t like repetition. I’ll be happy if I could be busy learning things!” Li Xiaoxuan was finally admitted to BRFLS’s top class with outstanding achievements. Soon after the beginning of the new semester in September 2015, Li Xiaoxuan was unanimously elected as monitor and English representative of Class 4. However, Li Xiaoxuan soon felt that the English classes were too easy for her. The teacher knew about this situation immediately and transferred her to AP English class in high school which was taught by foreign teachers. “This is something that no other school could have done,” said Li Xiaoxuan’s mom.

Li Xiaoxuan is also very confident and talkative in daily life. She attended English morning reading campaign with other students, participated in student union election, helped organize Halloween activities, played as reporters and photographers, and even received foreign guests, such as former US President Bush’s brother Neil Bush, together with school leaders.

Her campus life was not only rich and unique, but also boosted the opportunity to be admitted by Fay School. When applying for this school, Li Xiaoxuan talked freely with the admissions officer and her confidence impressed him a lot. “I have been working for so many years, yet you are the most unique girl I have ever seen from china! Be yourself! There will be plenty of chances!” An admissions officer with 30 years’ experience commented.

At the beginning of 2017, Li Xiaoxuan returned to BRFLS and reunited with her classmates to watch Chinese New Year Gala. She spent a happy time at BRFLS and learned tolerance and support, which laid the foundation for her new life in the United States. “My study and life in BRFLS fully prepared me for my life in the United States!”
