The Music Journey of Exploration to the Maldives – A Letter from 3(4) Yang Bingyi’s Parents

My daughter is in grade three of BRFLS. She loves singing and she joined the school chorus last year to begin her professional training. What I have found out is that she is increasing her leadership skills day by day, as she was selected as the group leader to help her team members to study and improve.

She has learned so many beautiful songs in the chorus. Whenever I see her serious attitude following Teacher Yang’s conducting and Teacher Wang’s piano accompaniment, I feel like I am seeing a little great singer!

This winter, she joined the winter camp. The great thing about this camp was that students could choose many courses including chorus, dance and drum. In the closing ceremony, students sang a very difficult but beautiful Cantonese song under Teacher Yang’s encouragement. This was a great ending point for the Winter Camp.

After the Winter Camp was over, our family went to the fascinating Maldives to spend the winter vacation. The islands over there like the shining pearls on the sea and the trip was unforgettable. My daughter was still practicing some chorus songs when she was walking on the beach. I felt very gratified at that moment because I thought she has found her interest. I firmly believe that she will continue learning chorus more seriously and more persistently.
