About RFLS Little Readers:

Awardees with Principal Wang

Reading is an important way to improve language ability. Students can not only enjoy reading stories, but also enhance cultural awareness and language proficiency. Our reading classes are aimed to help students form a good reading habit so that their English language skills could be improved comprehensively. Through reading classes, many students fall in love with original English books. In order to stimulate students’ interest in reading, RFLS organized a conference on shared reading. Students actively participated in this event and seven of them were elected to attend the final sharing session.

A glimpse of the sharing session:

Yixuan Miu and Lanxin Chen

The first to appear on the stage was Yixuan Miu from class 7-5. He shared the book Warriors Cat, which tells a story about a cat’s bizarre journey. The story brought us to a mysterious world. Lanxin Chen from class 74 told the fairy tale Peter Pan.

Jihao Liu and Zhirou Lu

When talking about western magical world, JK. Rolling must be the most famous writer at the moment. A series of fantastic stories that happened at Hogwarts were moved to screen. The new book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by JK. Rolling is undoubtedly the winner in the film market. Jihao Liu from class 7-5 and Zhirou Lu from class 7-4 shared their feelings about reading the original books.

Unlike other students, Xiahua Dong from class 8-4 shared a moving story during the war time. Two boys went beyond racial animosity and built their friendship during the Nazi period.

Han Chang and Jiayu Wu

Finally, Jiayu Wu from class 8-5 and Han Chang from class 9-4 introduced a story about the book thief and animals’ big revolution.

The ‘Little Readers’ sharing session has ended, but students’ passion for reading hasn’t vanished yet. A book is a ship, which enables us to wander through the sea of knowledge. A book is a door, which leads us to a lustrous and dazzling world. A book is a friend, who shares our happiness and sorrow. My dear students, let’s befriend books on our adventures!
