On May 14th, Principal Wang arrived in Britain to visit Grade 9 students who are studying in the UK. Principal Wang met with the local British schools and had in-depth discussions about this year’s UK study program.

Principal Wang greeting the students

Principal Wang visited the five schools where our students are studying. The students felt warmhearted when they heard that Principal Wang had come for a visit and they all sent their greetings to her. Then Principal Wang had a brief meeting with the students asking about their life and studies.

Discussions with students

The third weekend is coming since our students arrived in Britain. Looking back the past three weeks, our students gradually adapted to the new life here. During the meeting, many students expressed that the life here is more strained and richer than expected. They are experiencing authentic British classrooms while preparing for the IGCSE exams and also cultural trips during weekends. All these things make them feel that every day is fresh and rich.

Students sharing their life

Our students are praiseworthy although this is the first time that they experience British public school classrooms. Even though their English is a bit rough, they still try their best to join activities and finish their homework. And they often discuss questions after classes.

Preparing for IGCSE:

Except for overseas study, our students applied for the IGCSE exams and they took the exams together with local students.

Cultural experience:

Cambridge boating

Fitzwilliam Museum

On the second weekend, the school organized students to visit Fitzwilliam Museum and Cambridge. They were all indulged in the natural beauty.

Words from parents:

This is the first time that our students study in another country without parents’ company. Our team leaders share moments about the kids with parents through Wechat. The following is what parents comment about this program:

“This activity is a special experience to both students and parents. Meanwhile, it’s a challenge to the school and teachers.

Firstly, most of the students rely on parents in their daily life. Parents hope that this program could help their children improve their life skills, which might contribute to their future life abroad.

Secondly, in the eyes of parents, children cannot take care of themselves. This program gives parents an opportunity to see their children from other perspectives and realize that they are amazing kids. We shall believe in our children!

Thirdly, we have a better understanding about RFLS through this program. The organization, cooperation and arrangements of this program have shown us RFLS’s professionalism.

Lastly, the leader teachers are respectful. Parents have a lot of worries. It is the leader teachers that comfort all the parents through sharing pictures and sending messages. We applaud for these highly qualified teachers.

Wish all the teachers and students the best!”

The three-month journey has just begun. The students might experience ‘cultural shock’ due to language and cultural differences. Yet our students are confident that they’ll overcome all difficulties. “Since we have chosen the goal, we will win against all obstacles to achieve it.” A lot more exciting journeys await for the students to explore in the future!
