“Three Responsibilities in Life” 丨Famous Painter—Professor Zhao Mingde visit RFLS
“Every man alive has a duty to his country.”

On February 23th, 2017, Professor Zhu Mingde, member of Chinese Artists Association and Chinese Calligraphers Association, former dean of Beijing Academy of Social Science, and executive vice chairman of Beijing Literary and Arts Association, visited BRS. Professor Zhu delivered a speech about how to become a responsible person at the auditorium and interacted with the students through skillful guidance and questioning.

“Life troubles should be settled in life; never avoiding issues by leaving them behind just like Chang Er leaving for the moon.” Professor Zhu quoted from his poem and encouraged students not to avoid contradictions or responsibilities. Every young man should take their family and social responsibilities. Each young man has the potential to serve our country as a public servant in the future. Life is all about dream. “Even if I am at a small town, I have an open mind and broad visions.”

Professor Zhu’s speech involved his own life experiences, namely education, joining the army and working experiences. He started painting from 7 years old and he is especially fond of creating fish images. Over the years, he focused on sketching and Chinese traditional painting innovation, taking his responsibility in the cultural field.

After the speech, Professor Zhu encouraged students who actively interact with him by painting on site at the auditorium. While sketching, zhu said:” your mind, eyes and hands should be integrated the moment you feel touched. The work created by painters are subjective. First, you need to cultivate your interests for painting. Then you need observation. You can put your own understanding in it while painting. You could start with something special. Painting is just like singing and dancing. Everyone can do it! Don’t be afraid!”
