Vacation Life 丨Impression of Italy

The winter vacation is over. How was your vacation? Wang tianyang from BRFLS recorded his trip to Italy during the vacation. Here is how he felt about Italy.

I was deeply impressed by Italy. Whether it’s the ancient Roman Colosseum, or Mussolini, criminal of World War II, has left a lasting imprint on earth. That’s the fusion of brutality and war. However, it’s rarely known what ancient Rome had contributed to the cultural and art field of this world until you set foot on this land one day. You will truly appreciate the cultural sense here. It’s the perfect combination of classical and modern beauty.

During the days in Italy, what impressed me most was the cultural atmosphere. No matter in Pisa, Florence, Verona, Rome or Venice, this country, as the European cultural center, would deliver you its glorious past. Some say : The Yellow River is cradle of Chinese culture, then Italy is the witness of European civilization. History is penetrated in every cultural heritage in Italy. Rome is like a natural history museum and the churches are all palaces of art. Every stone under your feet is a cultural relic and each building is a work of art. Rome, the eternal city, is eternal because of its everlasting culture has always been shining in the river of history. This is amazing! Italy is an ancient city and its cultural has lasts for a long time. In a country where you can find cultural relics everywhere, you could have a glimpse of the ancient culture through each city, building, statue, spring or square. The delicate and gorgeous gothic buildings are luxuriant handicrafts.

Each sculpture is so true to life, vivid, giving out a sense of vitality and passion. They seemed to tell a Bible story spread through the ages. Every fountain seemed to be flowing with inexhaustible water, and every square seemed to tell us the wit and wisdom of ancient Romans. What you see in Rome is a long brilliant bumpy history with splendid cultural. Time is in stagnation here, and even downtown tram are engraved with history records. Pine tree, known as the symbol of Rome city, has several hundred years of history.

It can be said that Italy’s most outstanding contribution to the world is the art of architecture and culture. Rome Papal Basilica of Saint Peter is known as the representative work of Michelangelo, one of the top three Renaissance artists. It fully embodies the Baroque architectural style, that is, the pursuit of free shape dynamic and strong color contrast. It is known as the classic European architectural arts. When you walk into the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter, you will feel that you come to the palace of art, where you can enjoy the world’s top level of painting, appreciate the beauty of sculpture art. Michelangelo is famous for painting “mourning of Christ”. It describes the story of virgin Maria who holds Jesus in her arms after his suffering, her left hand open, and she is in great sadness, showing the great and holy maternal love. The entire hall is full of famous works and it’s an exhibition of the achievements of Italy Renaissance. In Italy, we could enjoy not only the magnificent Papal Basilica of Saint Peter, but also the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Venice’s San Marco’s Cathedral is luxurious and magnificent. It is called the golden cathedral.

I was most impressed by Florence, which is not only the birthplace of European Renaissance, but also a gathering place for famous masters. Dante, Vogachu, Petrarch and Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rafael all emerged here. These masters of science and art in medieval times not only affect Europe but also affect the world. Up to today, Da Vinci’s “Last Supper”, Dante’s “Divine Comedy”, Michelangelo’s Baroque architectural style and Rafael’s works still enlighten and shock people in modern times. Dante said: “follow your own course, let others talk.” This is a quote for all men and for all time.

For hundreds of years, time has left indelible marks on this ancient country. Although it has experienced war time and ancient Rome Empire’s savage and militant era, we still cannot deny the great contribution that Italy made to world civilization. When we sink in the rich cultural and artistic surrounding of Italy, whether it’s painting, sculpture, architecture, literary works, or aphorisms, we should cherish the precious heritage of the world. These cultural relics not only affect the European cultural but also affect the entire world. These outstanding works will remain immortal and eternal.
