In response to the “Four Ones ” advocate initiated by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, BRFLS organized a group of Grade 8 students to visit the National Museum aiming to implement socialist core values, enrich students’ lives and broaden their horizons.

Students queued up to enter the museum

After arriving at the National Museum, the students enter the museum orderly as arranged. The staff prepared task lists for students.

First, our students, together with peers from other schools, visited the National Museum conference Room. The staff there welcomed everyone and gave a brief introduction on the history and etiquette of the museum.

Students listened to the introduction carefully

Then the students were divided into 4 groups with different themes to visit and study under the leadership of instructors, where some learned about the development of agriculture and animal husbandry in ancient China, some traced the origin of ceramic art, and others got to know the development of bronze ware. Different themes enabled students to appreciate different aspects of human civilization.

Seeking answers in the museum

The students consciously abided by discipline, listened attentively, took notes carefully, and completed the task list during the activity. This visit gave the students an opportunity to develop intuitive understanding of the National Museum. They not only broadened their horizons, enriched their knowledge, but also boosted their national pride and self-confidence. At the same time, they realized that historical development is the development of human civilization, and personal development is closely related to human development. What’s more, they obtained a sense of responsibility and mission. Many students said they would come back to the National Museum for continuing study.
