International Academic Event held in Beijing Royal International School Again

In the autumn of 2016, an important academic event in education area was held in Beijing Royal International school. On September 24th and 25th , Cambridge IGCSE teacher professional development training in Northeast Asia, which was organized by CIE, was held in BRIS. It’s another great event hosted by BRIS followed with the 2014 AP Education Summit organized by the College Board of USA.

Up to now, among the largest international education organizations representing advanced international education concepts, two has chosen BRIS as their teacher training base. They appreciated the achievements that BRIS has made in cultivating teacher talents with mixed abilities and highly valued the idea of providing continuous teacher training while at the same time improving teaching quality.

In June, Wang Guangfa, principal of BRIS made his journey to the headquarter of CIE in UK, which improved our impact at the international stage. BRIS is now officially honored as Cambridge Professional Development Centre.

In order to carry out the long-term plan about teacher professional development training and providing services to the whole northeast Asia area and also spread IGCSE courses around China , CIE has chosen BRIS to host the biggest ever IGCSE training event. It’s another great event hosted by BRIS followed with the 2014 AP Education Summit organized by the College Board of USA.

CIE will send out excellent Cambridge curriculum trainers and examiners to provide comprehensive training and designed classes to approximately 500 teachers and supervisors from over 200 schools in northeast Asia.

BRIS, as one of the Cambridge Professional Development Centre, will also provide long-term and practical on-job-training to teachers in this area according to their characteristics and teaching features. The training includes diverse project programs such as teaching methods, bilingual math, digital teaching and teaching management, etc.
This training will bring up more international ejaculation faculty team equipped with international vision and advanced teaching methods.

█ ▌About IGCSE Cambridge teacher professional training

Cambridge curriculum is a consistent course system, which includes A-level、IGCSE、Secondary and Primary these four phases, covering all the courses from primary school to high school. Following the 2015 Secondary and Primary teacher training, this is the second time that BRIS cooperate with CIE to provide teacher training.
This time the training session not only provide courses to new teachers, but also to experienced Cambridge curriculum teachers to enrich their teaching methods, promote communications between teachers and advocate the ‘localization’ concept.

Teachers attending this event will learn about Cambridge exam concept and assessment method, master CIE outline and course structure, and also get marking scheme and feedback from Cambridge examiners. The training involves 15 subjects of IGSCE.  By then every subject group will build their own communication team and talk about combination of theory with practice, daily teaching with Cambridge concepts.

The picture was filmed by CIE and authorized to Cambridge university. The picture is widely used in the official brochure and notebooks by the university, which shows that BRIS actively cooperate with Cambridge university in teacher training.

▌Extension Cambridge IGCSE ® Physics (0625)

IGCSE （International General Certificate of Secondary Education）is specially designed for international students, which is a correspondence too GCSE in the UK. It’s also the most widely employed Secondary education system among students all over the world aged between 14 to 16. Its certificate is generally accepted by more than 100 countries around the world.

In some countries, IGCSE could be used to apply for universities. It’s also often used as a kind of bridging program for young students who want to learn A-level or IB courses in their high school. The students could choose classes as they need. The core of IGCSE has always been equipping the students with creativity, broad knowledge and a sense of citizenship.
