Talk With Students Around the World in "Global Scholar " Class

Global Scholar is an online studying course. Students have two hours a week to talk with students from different countries. The purpose of this course is to exchange ideas and to cultivate global citizens.

On the afternoon of March 27th, students talked with other students from Spain and Istanbul.

During the conversation, BRFLS students greeted the students in Turkey and asked them many questions; some of the questions included, “What are you traditional holidays? How do you celebrate these holidays? What are the characters on the buildings in your cities?” etc.
BRFLS students answered their questions in perfect English. They also showed them Chinese culture and talents such as calligraphy and paper-cut works.

Two days after the conversation, BRFLS teachers received an e-mail from Teacher Gulgun in Istanbul. She said, “It was great to be able to communicate with BRFLS students and we hope that we can speak again soon.”

Advanced technology enables students to speak with others across great distance. Students are also able to apply what they have learned in class into real life. They are able to improve their English conversation skills, confidence, and learn the different customs and opinions of other countries.
