BRS Student Zhao Peng Attends ECOSOC Youth Forum

The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum was held at the UN headquarters in New York on April 8-9, 2019. BRS student Zhao Peng was nominated to attend the Asia and Pacific session of the Forum as a youth leader representing China by UN Women, because of his special contribution in promoting the UN Women’s Gender Equality Program. Wearing the orange silk scarf symbolizing change maker, Zhao Peng stood on the stage of the ECOSOC Youth Forum and introduced BRS’s innovations and solutions designed for promoting gender equality and the advancement of Sustainable Development Goals. This marked the second time BRS has attended ECOSOC’s Youth Forum where, in 2018, our student Wang Mianchen represented China and explained to the world the importance of gender equality. The Forum provides a platform for dialogue sharing among young leaders from around the world and with United Nations Member States, and embodies sharing ideas to help advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, and the Paris Climate Agreement.
