On September 18, BRS students and teachers spent a meaningful afternoon at Nuannuan Children’s Activity Center, a nonprofit organization that serves migrant workers’ families, children with hearing disabilities and autism. This event was co-organized by the Office of International Programs and the BRS Communist Youth League Committee; and the activities consisted of four parts: introduction to Mid-autumn Festival, Moon Festival trivia, English words related to the Festival, and snowy-mooncake making. Students at BRS remain committed to community service and have been volunteering at Nuannuan for years, turning talking about social responsibility into actions. (written by JING Fan)

On September 11th, the new semester 1st Parents’ Workshop, themed “Study Abroad Safety Course”, was launched online as scheduled by Dr Xiaofei Yan, a teacher from the BRS Psychological Counseling Office.  The course has a variety of forms, including online videos from which students gain theoretical knowledge, in addition to practical courses offline, which are designed to inform and provide students living-abroad safety practices and emphasizes the necessity of always using these guidelines.  Students are advised to explore knowledge independently, as well, in order to form their own personalized strategies for studying abroad safely. Dr Yan reminded parents to actively engage students to communicate often and regularly, to proactively monitor students’ mental health, and to maintain open lines of communication with BRS to ensure adequate preparation is established and practiced to ensure students’ well-being while studying and living abroad.
