American STEM Experts Share Innovations and Educational Advances with BRS Teachers

On October 15th, 2016, seven STEM experts in the field of Educational Innovation were invited to visit BRS for an in-depth discussion and exchange with BRS teachers.

The visit was a key part of the “2016 Sino-US STEM+Innovation Education Forum” During the visit, teachers from both countries shared their experiences bringing innovation to the science, math and technology classroom.

BRS teachers, Li Xiuwen and Yu Yao impressed visitors with demonstration classes in which they explored how games are increasing student engagement and interaction at BRS.

Two teachers from Indiana then shared a variety of innovative strategies that are proving effective in American classrooms. The state of Indian shared shows what they have achieved of STEM innovation education through a series of teaching methods and teaching strategies.

BRS teachers found the exchange with their American peers enjoyable, stimulating and useful. “It was great to meet fellow teachers who share my passion for education, encounter the same challenges in their classrooms, and are committed to our common goal of motivating their students to become lifelong learners, said Yu Yao, Grade 12 Year Leader who taught at BRS for 8 years.


Innovation means integrating understanding basic STEM concepts into instruction that is interdisciplinary, project-based, and learner-centered.
