Join This Year’s Campus Exhibition Galore

This month at BRS, we witnessed the vibrant spirit of learning come alive. BRS’s dynamic environment breathes life into the world of arts and interdisciplinary themes, showcased magnificently through our students’ captivating projects displayed in a multitude of on-campus exhibitions.

Throughout the festive month, numerous exhibitions adorned our campus, including “Break the Frame: The Grade 12 Art Exhibition”, featuring an impressive collection of 120 works by the Class of 2023 graduates. The Junior High proudly presented “Love and Action, Make a Change: The Grade 8 MYP Community Project Exhibition”, highlighting 39 community projects spanning diverse subjects and themes, crafted by our talented 8th graders. Additionally, the “Sharing the Planet: The Grade 5 PYP Exhibition” beautifully demonstrated the learning and comprehension of essential PYP elements by our Grade 5 Elementary School students.

All of these exhibitions have been accessible to the BRS community, providing an invaluable opportunity for students, staff, and visiting parents to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our learners. It also allows them to engage with pertinent issues and practices through the profound work of our student artists and project designers.

We cordially invite you to join us and seize the chance to become a part of these remarkable exhibitions.

The Grade 12 Art Exhibition

Breaking the Frame

For students enrolled in the High School Arts Program, this exhibition marked their final opportunity to present their work to the community and express their insights, inspirations, and reflections on the artistic process. Themed “Break the Frame,” the exhibition boasted an impressive array of 120 original works created by grade 12 students. The captivating showcase encompassed various mediums such as paintings, installations, photographs, costume design, and architectural design. Each piece exhibited distinct stylistic choices and explored a wide range of themes.

Moreover, this collection of artwork serves as a special graduation gift to their beloved alma mater, BRS, representing a significant and defining moment for our talented art students to share their learning experiences throughout their years at BRS with the wider community.

The Grade 8 MYP Community Project Exhibition

 Making a Difference

Grade 8 students concluded their MYP Community Project by showcasing their final products in an exhibition. This event served as a significant milestone in their journey through the IB-MYP Programme, where students engaged in an extended research endeavor, exploring topics of personal interest under the theme “Love and Action, Make a Change”.

By employing a comprehensive approach encompassing investigation, planning, action, and reflection, students aimed to merge their research findings with local or global issues, with the ultimate goal of effecting positive change in our world. The exhibition stands as a joyous celebration of the students’ acquired knowledge and honed skills throughout their MYP experience.

The Grade 5 PYP Exhibition

 Sharing the Planet

The PYP Exhibition, also known as PYPX, holds a significant place in the Grade 5 academic calendar. It serves as a platform for students to showcase their learning and comprehension of the key elements of the PYP curriculum. It represents the culmination of an extensive inquiry process, encompassing self-reflection, collaboration, investigation, action, and presentation to an engaged audience.

This year’s PYPX has been marked by inspiring and enlightening projects. Our students delved into their chosen lines of inquiry centered around the UN Sustainable Development Goals, tackling vital issues such as climate change, poverty, and gender inequality. With the guidance of mentors, they conducted thorough research, culminating in the creation of impactful projects. These projects were then shared with a wide-ranging audience, including parents, peers, and representatives from other schools. By extending the reach of their research beyond the confines of BRS, our students sought to inspire more individuals to take meaningful action and make a positive difference in society.

At BRS, we firmly believe in the significance of involving students in diverse experiences that nurture their creativity, cultivate their talents, and ignite a passion for active exploration. The abundance of exhibitions this year undeniably serves as a compelling affirmation of the success of our educational approach.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who joined us in this joyous celebration!
