One Fire Drill Teaches Students How to Survive Forever

A very sharp fire alarm sounded at Beijing Royal School Campus around 16 pm on Nov 9th. Don’t worry, because it was just a fire evacuation drill for all the Beijing Royal School faculty and students on National Fire Prevention Day.

Right after the fire alarm, teachers immediately arrived at the designated assembly points of No 2 building and began directing students to evacuate quickly and quietly. To make the drill look real, several cans of smoke were put around the campus to create a lot of smoke.

Homeroom teachers led students to bend down. They covered their nose with a wet towel and reached the safety zone. Later, students listened to the lecture about fire protection. Two sixth grade students were invited to use fire extinguishers to put out two burning heaps, under the guidance of two firemen.

To sum it up, this kind of experience-based education is of key importance to teach students safety awareness and self-protection, and students also realized that they need to always put their lives first.
