“Blue Sky” —— Foreign Teacher Demo Class for the “Colorful Dreams” Choir Class

A choir requires the participation of a group of people with different kinds of vocal sounds. Compared to a solo, it has stronger expressive ability and more appeal. It is very common in many large performances, and it always pushes the performance to the climax in the final act.

Dozens of students were chosen to practice singing every Friday after the open by the BRFLS music teachers. Not only this, the music teachers also brought these students to observe and outside the campus.

To make the richer tones, wider vocal range, higher fluctuations and better harmonies, it requires professional training, and only this can unify and standardize different volumes, intonations and tones and make that beautiful choir sound we all love.

On Oct 20th, Ethan, a music foreign teacher who majored in singing, lead the students from Chorus A in a wonderful English choir demo class, singing“Blue Sky. This American song was discussed and chosen by Ethan and Yang Jia together. Students began to like this song almost immediately because of its Jazzy style, joyful rhythm and catchy lyrics.

The chorus has three parts, soprano, alto, and baritone. Ethan gave the students very detailed training on pronunciation, intonation and the coordination of different vocal parts. At the same time, Ethan made the students sample the feeling of this song in their hearts in order to better realize the artistic representation of this song.

In addition to this, Ethan gave a very innovative performance as conductor to stimulate the students’ passion during the singing.

Professor Huang Jingzi from the University of Northern Colorado observed this class and gave many valuable suggestions.

We are looking forward to seeing more great performances from the BRLFS chorus!
