2nd Grade Student Liu Liuye Participates in the 10th VEX Robotics World Championship

On April 22nd, 2nd grade student Liu Liuye participated in the 10th VEX Robotics World Championship, in Louisville, U.S.

The VEX Robotics Competition is for students from elementary school to university. The principle of VEX is to provide students with a great platform to communicate technology, gain cutting-edge knowledge, and a chance to show their talents and achieve their dreams.

VEX envisions a world where every student has the opportunity to be inspired by the excitement of hands-on STEM learning and to know the feeling of creating something with technology. VEX wants people of all ages and backgrounds to recognize that creative problem solving is fun and sees its importance in shaping a better future.

There were a total of 18000 teams around the world that participated in VEX this year, which represents the highest level of competition in Robotics. It is as famous as another world-class competition – FIRST.

It was the first time that BRFLS was invited by a world class event. BRFLS has opened a variety of IT courses such as LEGO, 3D printing and other advanced STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses.

Benefited from these high quality IT classes, Computer Teacher Deng Zhihong from the IT department told us Liu Liuye had been very interested in Robotics for a long time, is currently studying Robotics with upper level students. He was independent, intelligent, and cooperative. In addition, he could speak fluent English. This is why he performed well in the competition.

Good job, Student Liu! Congratulations and welcome back!
