旧物焕新，节约地球资源｜小学部“环境月”主题活动

Beijing Royal Foreign Language School celebrated Environmental Month recently. This was to bring awareness to students that our planet Earth needs saving and that one small act can make a big difference.

在刚刚过去的5月，北京王府外国语学校小学部双语学科组成功举办了“环境保护”主题活动。通过“环境月”活动的开展，孩子们意识到，在拯救地球的过程中，一个小小的行动也能产生巨大的影响。

Students and parents enjoyed making projects out of used materials for this event with a slogan of “Reuse Creatively, It’s Our Responsibility”. We were able to collect around 300 projects which were exhibited for two weeks. The purpose of this project was to show that with a small effort we make a big impact not only in our community but to the world. This was also to encourage students at a young age to learn more about the current environmental problems and to start thinking about what we can contribute to protecting and preserving mother earth. Creativity was also fostered during the event and to highlight friendly competition, we let our students choose three best products in each class. However, each project was treated with respect and appreciation. The students made their projects with great effort and this showed their eagerness to be part of this call. We hope that in this small activity, we may plant a seed of hope and for them to pass it forward to the next and coming generations.

此次活动的口号是“创造性地重复使用，这是我们的责任”。学生和家长利用废旧材料创作了约300件作品，双语组的老师们精心挑选出部分作品。进行了为期两周的作品展示。

在制作过程中，孩子们更多地了解到当前的环境问题，并深入思考自己能为保护地球做出哪些贡献。一件件精美的手工作品，展现出孩子们无穷的创造力。经过评选，同学们在每个班级中选出3件他们认为最棒的手工作品，当然，每一件作品都收到了大家的赞赏。他们真切地感受到，即使是小小的努力，也能对身边的环境甚至世界产生巨大的影响。

　　孩子们渴望成为环境保护活动的一员。他们不仅仅是在创作手工作品，更是在播种爱护环境的种子，在向地球妈妈表达自己真诚的爱意。

Children love songs and music.During the event, we held a Class Singing Competition among grade levels. Songs are great tools to create and deliver the message of attention and action. More importantly, this was not all about competition, but to develop understanding of the importance of protecting and saving our planet. Through song performances, we enjoyed our student’s collaboration and bonding.

　　活动期间，为了加深环保意识，综合素质班的孩子们还举办了环保主题的班级歌唱比赛，这不仅仅是一次歌曲比赛，而是让歌曲成为传递环保理念的载体，在歌声中加深了同学们对爱护地球的理解，孩子们也在演唱歌曲中展现出了紧密的团队协作。

The event was culminated at the flag raising ceremony where students happily received the certificates of appreciation given by Vice Principal Li Min. This was a successful event and we thank the school administration for the support and also the parents who also played a big part in this endeavor.

　　在升旗仪式上，双语组对此次活动进行了总结表彰颁奖。小学部李敏副校长对获奖学生及班级颁发了荣誉证书。感谢每一位学生和家长对环境月活动的参与和关注，让我们一起加入到爱惜资源、保护地球的行动中吧！
