At the end of December, PYP fifth grade students came to the China Science and Technology Museum to find “energy. ” . The theme of our research class is “energy has impact on the progress of human society and the environment. ” From the green train to the Maglev train, millet plus rifles to the powerful atomic bomb, all matter has energy, and when we humans are smart enough to tap into that energy, and use it, the world grows. In school classes, we have explored and experimented with different kinds of energy.

WIND ENERGY EXPERIMENT: Wind Power Generation

This visit to the Museum of Science and Technology, we also take the worksheet of exploring energy and energy sources, for adding new experience to this “re-visit”.

In Exploring and Discovering Hall A, children learn about thermal power generation and steelmaking outside the classroom.

In front of the Spring Pendulum, apply the knowledge of the classroom to think about: How is energy transferred in this context?
In Exploring and Discovering Hall B, the exploitation of sound energy is also buried in the history of sound preservation.

Although it is a pity that the energy area of the Science Museum has not been opened this time, we have also found examples of human application of new energy in Hall B of Challenge and Future!

The tour of the Science Museum is over, and our unit exploration continues. Next, the children will evaluate the use of different energy sources, which is the task of the unit summary evaluation. We are wondering: What is the most potential energy source in your eyes?
