艺术来源于哪里?我们如何借助艺术表达自己?视觉和表演的艺术又是什么?
北京王府外国语学校小学双语部五年级,在本月探究课上研究关于艺术表达的课题。本单元的中心思想是:人们以不同的方式表达美以及对美的欣赏。三条线索分别是:1. 人们认为“美”有很多形式。2. 人们如何用艺术来表达个性特征。3. 人们可以使用不同的媒介表达自己。
The Grade 5 students in PYP are studying the topic of artistic expression in the latest inquiry class. Where does art come from? How do people express themselves through art? What is visual art and performing art? Our central idea for this unit is: People express beauty and show their appreciation of it in different ways. Our lines of inquiry are: 1. People have different views of beauty. 2. How people use arts to express individuality. 3. The mediums people use to express themselves. Last week, we have invited four guest speakers coming into our classroom to share their views of beauty.
9月16日上午,我们有幸请到两位艺术界的“大咖”——柴星宇妈妈和王思语爸爸,为孩子们从多个角度讲述他们心中的美。设计出身的星宇妈妈一听说孩子们在做艺术方面的探究,就积极报名家长课堂。她带来了《美在时尚设计中的表达》课程。
无论自然之美抑或艺术之美,都来源于生活。星宇妈妈告诉孩子们,每个人都可以用心去发现和创造属于自己的美。以柴星宇同学自己设计的“小雪”形象为例,星宇妈妈介绍了如何用画笔去创造与设计这个雪国天使的形象,经过工厂的打样取材,结合设计师的包装,最后变成真正的产品。通过了解“小雪”形象的产生过程,孩子们认识到人人都可以成为设计师,只要拥有发现美的眼睛。

On the morning of September 16th, we had honor to invite two parents of our students, Ivy’s mom and Tracy’s dad. When Ivy’s mother, who has designing background, heard that the children are doing art exploration, she actively signed up and wanted to contribute to the class. She brought a course on “Expression of Beauty in Fashion Design”. Whether it is the beauty of nature or the beauty of art, it comes from life. Ivy’s mother told the children that everyone can discover and create their own beauty with their heart. Taking the “Yuki” image designed by Chai Ivy herself as an example, Ivy’s mother introduced how to use a brush to create and design the image of this snow country angel. After proofing by the factory, combined with the designer’s packaging, the process of finally turning into a product. The emergence of the image of “Yuki” tells children that everyone can become a designer, as long as you have the eyes to discover beauty.
另一位重量级艺术老师——王思语爸爸则参与过多部舞剧的舞台设计。他为孩子们展现了舞剧《千手观音》的背景知识和舞台艺术,并准备了很多精美的舞台照片,一一为孩子们做展示。

Another VIP teacher, Tracy Wang ‘s father, has participated in the stage design of many national dance dramas. He used storytelling to show children the background knowledge and stage art of the Thousand-Hand Guanyin Dance Drama. “A long, long time ago, there was a plague in the country, just like our current epidemic. But the king Huiyuan at that time was not immune. The third princess is kind-hearted and willing to risk finding the life-saving lotus flower to save the people and her Father…” After listening to the narration of Tracy’s father, we realized that there was such a folk story behind the original dance drama. “What is the connection between you and this work?” “Why are there only the little princess who doesn’t get sick?”… The children listened carefully and asked all kinds of interesting and naughty questions. Tracy’s father also prepared a lot of beautiful stage photos, but because the format is not compatible on the computer, Tracy’s father held up his laptop to show the children.
课程结束的时候,“小雪”的设计者柴星宇为大家分发“小雪”公仔。“她水汪汪的眼睛是蓝色的,就像珍贵的蓝宝石,她有雪白的翅膀,印在胸前的雪花,挂在额头上的月牙,好似如梦如幻的仙女……“
At the end of the course, Ivy’s mother asked Chai Ivy, the designer of “Yuki”, to distribute the “Yuki” dolls for everyone. “Her watery eyes are blue, like precious sapphires, the snow-white wings, the snowflakes printed on her chest, and the crescent moon hanging on her forehead, like a dreamlike fairy…”

9月18日下午,孩子们又邀请到王府学校高中部的三位学姐郑虹卿、王语欣、刘伊林,一同交流感受。
第一位小姐姐从平面设计的角度告诉孩子们,每个艺术家都是不同的,他们的作品也会展现出不一样的风格,画面的张力和对主旨的表现尤为重要。

On the afternoon of September 18th, we invited three students from the high school. The three girls are good at graphic design and illustration. The first girl talked about the definition of beauty. She mentioned Picasso’s paintings, which were not popular in the early days, and Frida Kahlo’s self-portrait, who always drawstraight united eyebrows of herself, which provide special feelings. She introduced the graphic design that she is good at. She thought that the design could be divided into visual influence and practicality. Although the graphic design was two-dimensional, she wanted to find three-dimensional things in two-dimensional space. The girl told our students, don’t be afraid of your painting that is not beautiful enough, there will be someone always appreciate it.Every artist is different, they want to show a different style through their artworks. As long as your painting has tension, andthe essence part shows out.
另外两位小姐姐介绍了画插画的步骤以及她们的创作灵感,大家一起讨论对艺术和美的理解。每个孩子在纸上画下来他们觉得美的事物,并分享自己的理由。
The other two students are learning about illustration. They introduced the steps of illustration and their creative inspiration by showing a ball falling from the table to the ground. They also discussed with ourstudentsabout what art is and what beauty is. Then each student was given a blank sheet of paper and asked to draw something they thought was beautiful and share why they thought it was beautiful.
