G1 students of PYP went to the Beijing Zoo and Aquarium for a field trip On December 15th. Students already learned something about the habitats and what animals need in a habitat to survive. It was good for the students to see the different kinds of fishes in the aquarium and their different habitats. It was also good to see the variety of ocean animals in their habitats.The students were excited to see the different kinds of animals and call them by their names, such as stingray, jellyfish, shark, dolphin and whale.The students have also learnt about food chains, so it was good for them to see the different species of fish which led to discussions of the food chain.
12月15日，双语部一年级到北京动物园海洋馆进行探究实践。此前同学们已经了解了栖息地的相关知识，以及动物需要从栖息地中获取哪些生存条件。
在海洋馆中，孩子们兴奋地看到了不同的海洋动物以及它们的栖息地，有的还可以说出它们的英文名字，比如：黄貂鱼、水母、鲨鱼、海豚和鲸鱼。学生们之前也学习了食物链的相关知识，看到不同的鱼类时，他们也讨论了关于食物链的内容。
The aquarium is very well set out and information and pictures of the animals are all over to read. The students enjoyed the show with the dolphins and seals. After the aquarium we walked around the rest of the zoo, the students were very excited to run to the cages and read about the animals. They also had to read the maps and signboards to see where the animals are, basically learning about directions and distance. The highlight for the students was when we found the tiger.
在海洋馆里，随处可以了解到各类动物的详细信息。参观完海洋馆后，孩子们游览了动物园，参观了动物的居所，仔细阅读相关信息，并根据地图和指示标志来寻找动物们所在的场馆。
The students could see that the animals are well cared for which shows them about our responsibility in caring for habitats.This was a good outing for the students because while learning about animals , they still had a lot of fun.
通过此次探究实践活动，孩子们对动物的生存环境有了进一步了解，也懂得了自我肩负的保护栖息地的责任。这是一次很有意义的出游，孩子们不仅了解了与动物相关的内容，也收获了很多欢乐。
