PYP探究活动|三年级国际班中国美术馆之行

Classes 3,1 and 3,2 spent our Thursday at the Art Museum of China. We explored the many exhibitions and had the opportunity to use the knowledge from our current unit: How We Express Ourselves.
本周四,三年级1班和2班的同学们,前往中国美术馆进行参观学习,老师和同学们不仅一起欣赏了众多的展览作品,而且充分运用了我们目前正在学习单元“我们如何表达自己”的知识和内容。

Our central idea for this unit is: Images may communicate ideas and information. In our previous exploration of our unit, we have learned a lot about different types of images as well as how they are used. We know that images can be static or moving, and that each image has an idea or information that it is trying to communicate.
The purpose of our field trip was to build upon our prior knowledge by observing images and putting into practice our understanding of these two lines of inquiry:
– How design elements of images are linked to communication
– How we interpret and respond to images
我们这个单元的中心思想是:图像可以传达思想和信息。在我们之前对这个单元的探索中,我们了解了很多不同类型的图像以及它们是如何被使用的。我们知道图像可以是静态的,也可以是移动的,每种图像都能传达一个意境或信息,并试图进行交流和沟通。
我们此次出游的目的是通过观察图像,巩固我们先前所学到的知识,并通过对这些图像的观察,能够加深学生对本单元两条线索的理解:
-图像的设计元素如何与通信联系起来
-我们如何解释和回应图像

At the museum, we observed many different types of images, namely paintings, statues and sculptures. Our students’ task was to choose three images that really impacted them. With each image, they identified the medium, major design elements, and they wrote their interpretation of the meaning. They also discussed the images they chose with a partner in order to practice being open-minded. The concept of perspective is key to this unit, so it was great for us to share and respect different perspectives.
在美术馆,我们观察了许多不同类型的展品,即绘画、雕像和雕塑,学生的任务是选出三个真正影响他们的图像。在每张图片中,他们确定了次要和主要的设计元素,并写出了他们对这件展品意义的诠释。他们还通过和自己的伙伴讨论、分享展品的意象,以使自己的思想更加开放。视角的概念是这个单元的关键,所以学会分享和尊重不同的观点,对于学生意义重大。

Our students and teachers really appreciated the opportunity to experience art outside of the classroom. We were able to make significant connections from our classroom learning to the outside world. In addition, viewing art pieces and art exhibitions in the real world will help prepare our students for their Summative Assessment task, set to begin next week. For the task, each student will create an image with a particular message/meaning and display it in a class Art Exhibition. Other students will be invited to observe their work and to share and discuss their different perspectives. We are excited to see how our students will display their learning!
我们的学生和老师很珍惜在教室以外的学习、体验机会,我们能够将教室里学到的内容融入到教室外面的世界。此外,观看艺术作品和艺术展览将帮助学生准备下周开始的总结性评估任务。为了达成目标,每个学生将用一个特定的信息创建一个图像/意义,并在一个室内美术展览中进行展示。其他学生将被邀请去参观他们的作品,并分享和讨论他们不同的观点。我们期待看到我们的学生将如何展示他们的学习!
