我校学生生物燃料电池项目摘夺“2019丘成桐中学科学奖”中国区一等奖

12月14日下午，在清华大学蒙民伟音乐厅举办的“2019丘成桐中学科学奖”颁奖典礼上，我校高三年级学生赵尔卓、袁佳宁、周逸霖及其项目组指导老师高佳，经过为期近一年半的研究准备，历经初筛、函评和桌评，与来自北京、上海、广东、美国、新加坡、印度等90支队伍激烈角逐，最终以独具创新性的科研论文《对使用石墨烯/石墨复合电极的微生物燃料电池在有机废弃物使用的研究探索》成功获得“丘成桐中学科学奖（化学奖）中国赛区一等奖”，这也是他们在继获得“SDGO2019未来公民奖银奖”之后的又一次实力印证。

“丘成桐中学科学奖”是由哈佛大学教授、丘成桐数学科学中心主任丘成桐院士在2008年为全球华人中学生创立的。其设立的主要目的是为了提升和激发中学生对科学研究的兴趣和创新能力。参赛须以全英文形式答辩，由诺贝尔奖获得主、图灵奖获得主、菲尔兹奖获得主，以及中国科学院院士、美国科学院院士等世界顶级科学家担任评委，通过比赛后，将有超过一半的获奖学生会经推荐进入清华、北大、哈佛、耶鲁、普林斯顿等名校就读。丘成桐中学科学奖经过多年发展，已经成为具有高度国际影响力和学术领域含金量的综合性奖项，是学术界中学术含量最高的竞赛之一，被誉为“华人青少年的诺贝尔奖”。

“2019 S.-T. Yau High School Science Award (chemistry)” held at the William Mong Concert Hall of Tsinghua University on the afternoon of December 14, students of Grade 12 in our high school, Zhao Erzhuo, Yuan Jianing, Zhou Yilin and their project instructor Gao Jia, won the first prize of “2019 S.-T. Yau High School Science Award (chemistry)” for their innovative research paper ” On the Effect of the modified Graphene/Graphite Composite Electricity Generation Efficiency of Microbial Fuel Cell ” after nearly a year and a half of research preparation, have gone through the first screening, letter evaluation and desk evaluation ,competing with 90 teams from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, the United States, Singapore and India, this is also their another strength show after “SDGO 2019 Future Civic Award Silver Medal”.

Shing-Tung Yau Award was founded in 2008 by Shing-Tung Yau, a Harvard professor and director of the Shing-Tung Yau Center for Mathematical Sciences, fund for Chinese students around the world. Its main purpose is to promote and stimulate middle school students’ interest in scientific research and innovative ability. The competition was conducted in English. The judges are Nobel Prize winners, Turing Prize winners and Fields Medal winners, as well as world-class scientists such as Chinese Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Sciences, more than half of the award-winning students will be recommended to attend prestigious universities such as Tsinghua, Peking University, Harvard, Yale and Princeton. After years of development, the S.-T. Yau high school science Award has become a comprehensive award with high international influence and academic gold content and is one of the highest academic competitions in the world, known as the “Nobel Prize for Chinese youth.”.
