Who Is The Best At Using Dictionaries?

In order to motivate students to study Chinese, teachers from the Chinese Department organized a variety of activities. On March 27 and 28, classes had tests on two different skillsets: looking up words in the dictionary and writing words based on pinyin.

There is an old saying that states“a dictionary is a silent teacher.” Learning how to find words in a dictionary is an important skill for students. They had prepared for this test for a long timeby becoming familiar with using a dictionary. Therefore, they did a very good job on this test.

Chinese has a lot of characters, some of which have relatively complicated structures.  In addition, many characters, in spite of being different, share a similar appearance. The hard work that our students put in to pass this test was apparent. They thoroughly studied the pinyin of many words so that they were confident when they took the test.

Congratulations to our students! We are so proud of you!
