PYP Exploration- Power And Energy

At the beginning of March, Grade 2 students began to study a new unit called “How Does Our World Run?”  The central idea is to let students explore concepts of physics such as magnetism gravity and friction.  They also study heat, light, electricity and sound.

They were encouraged to take apart small objects such as clocks, fans and pens to discover how they were assembled. Then our students put them back together. After that, students worked in groups to come up with inventions to improve their daily lives.

After some intense brainstorming, every group came up with their own idea. Then they spent two weeks designing their inventions. Today they explained their inventions to other teams. Their unique creations included a pinball toy, dish car, and pizza cutter.

We are very proud of our smart and creative students!
