On January 3, the third annual BRS Spelling Bee, a much loved and anticipated tradition now, was abuzz in the main auditorium. Twelve Grade 10 and 11 students made a beeline to the auditorium to compete and show their spelling expertise, with only 4 chosen as “Best Speller”: Wang Xiaoyue, Jin Tianqi and Peng Tianshi from Grade 11, and Yuan Chujie from Grade 10. All twelve participants were put to the test in many creative and interesting ways, including interesting letter puzzles, Speed Spell, Show and Spell, Letter by Letter, and Super Word. The audience did not escape challenges either, and their spelling talent was tested with several interactive word games, such as Alphabet Soup, Word Forms and Word Puzzle. Kudos go out to the Language Center’s dedicated teachers who made much preparation for this excellent event. Congratulations to all!
